TRUMPF PASSES WITH FLYING COLOURS

N G Bailey Manufacturing has made good use of its twelve years of experience in laser processing to fine-tune a procurement process that makes sure it always buys the best equipment for the job. So, before investing in its new TRUMPF L4050 laser system, it embarked on a three month tendering process that included detailed specification analysis, vendor site visits, and rigorous performance trials.

As General Manager, Clive Porter, confirms, the TRUMPF L4050 came through with flying colours and was by far the most versatile of the machines the company looked at.

"We were left in no doubt that the TRUMPF L4050 machine would be the best solution for us. It has the proven reliability and process capability to contribute to our existing business, whilst expanding the range and thickness of materials cut.

"TRUMPF proved that the L4050 could repeatedly and consistently perform at the extreme of operating parameters, whilst giving the added benefits of improved speed at the mid-range. In addition, the on-line diagnostics and guaranteed service support are of great importance to our business where any lost time would have a major impact," says Clive.

"The addition of the L4050 to our current capabilities will allow the processing of thicker steel, stainless and aluminium. We see this as the first step in our new five-year plan and believe that continued investment in flat sheet processing was the correct decision for us to take.
