Clever new motion technology enables TRUMPF’s new L2530 Plus 2D flat bed laser cutting machine to boost laser cutting productivity significantly. The Plus in the machine’s design is a low-mass secondary Y-axis motion unit that it integrated into the main Y-axis bridge. This allows higher acceleration of the cutting head of up to 1g/990 cms/sec2, considerably improving both part cycle time and percentage of ‘beam on’ time. Productivity increases of up to 30% on intricate parts are easily demonstrated.
The working range of the machine is 1.25m x 2.5m and maximum speeds, 60m/min parallel-to-axis and 85m/min, simultaneously.
The TRUMPF L2530 Plus can be equipped with 2000 – 4000 Watt TLF lasers depending on the range of parts to be processed. In common with its predecessors, a key strength of this machine is its ability to process a wide range of material types in both thin sheet and thick plate. Whether the part geometry is simple or complex, parts cut on the L2530 Plus are ready for assembly with no need for secondary operations.
The machine’s cutting heads are easily exchanged to provide optimal cutting speeds in various materials. Changeover from the thinnest sheet to the thickest plate can be performed in less than one minute.
The non-contact automatic height sensing system, DIAS IV, maintains a constant stand-off between cutting head and workpiece without any manual intervention. The result is a scratch-free finish even on uneven sheets.
Optional features include Autolas, the fully programmable focus control, SprintLas for the high speed cutting of thin gauge materials and TRUMPF’s Plasma Sensing System that monitors and regulates the cutting of stainless steel. These are complemented by advanced processing techniques such as common line cutting, part marking and micro-welding to retain cut parts within the sheet for process security.
The machine’s control is based on the Sinumerik 840D and is integrated within the machine frame. On-line help, graphical fault reporting and powerful tele-diagnostics are standard features. The ToPs 100 CAD/CAM suite of software available with the machine allows programmes to be created in the design office and modified, if necessary, on the shopfloor.
To facilitate loading and unloading, the new L2530 Plus is equipped with an automatic pallet changer that speeds and simplifies the process.
