In developing the new TRUMATIC L4050 flatbed laser cutting centre with flying optics, TRUMPF's aim was to create a machine that is both innovative and supremely reliable. It includes a highly dynamic drive concept which benefits significantly from weight savings yet has exceptional stability. The L4050 features linear direct drives in the Y and Z axes and a gantry drive in the X axis.The high performance of the latest-generation 5000 Watt laser, coupled with super-fast control enables the L4050 to cut thicker materials - mild steel - 25mm, stainless steel - 20mm and aluminium - 12mm. It can also process thin sheet at high speeds - up to 40 metres per minute. Laser power during machining is regulated in such a way that corners and small contours can also be machined with optimal cut quality.
In common with all machines in the L-series, the L4050 can be equipped with a range of automation options to suit the application. These include automatic loading and unloading, connection to storage systems and automatic sorting of single parts.
